I feel like the Yankees have played the Pirates everyday this spring.  Does anyone else get that feeling?

Today’s gamelog is going to be more like a bunch of random notes from the game.  I’m multitasking today (playing MLB 10 The Show and watching) so updates will be rather sporadic.

Starting the game for your New York Yankees are:

  1. Jeter, SS
  2. Johnson, DH
  3. Posada, C
  4. Rodriguez, 3b
  5. Granderson, CF
  6. Swisher, RF
  7. Winn, LF
  8. Miranda, 1b
  9. Russo, 2b

And on the mound, the big man, left hander CC Sabathia.

__

Sabathia did not look very good in the first.  The Pirates hammered him for four runs before he recorded an out.  OH MY GOODNESS TIME TO PANIC?!?  Relax, he’ll be fine.  It takes the big guy a little while to get going.

Nick Johnson ripped a line drive over the right field fence.  If he can keep this up he’ll hit around twenty homers this year.  You know whose been having a good spring? Nick Swisher.  Another RBI hit for Swishilicious.

Sabathia settled down nicely and had a 1-2-3 second inning.

So yeah, this Nick Johnson guy is pretty good.  Put him down for another solo home run.  Hit this one a long way down the right field line.  Both of his shots today were solid line drive homers.

Randy Winn gets an AB against a lefty.  And he didn’t get a chance to swing the bat; four pitch walk for Randy.

Curtis Granderson smoked a lead off triple to start off the fifth inning for the Yankees.  The guy can really run.  Yankees couldn’t knock him in though (boooooo).
